As part of the Media Composer team, I designed the Transcript Tool, a feature that integrates speech-to-text technology directly into the video editing workflow. This tool allows editors to interact with real-time transcripts, making it easier to navigate footage, refine narratives, and select precise moments.
KEY FEATURES
Interactive Transcript: Click any word in the transcript to jump to that point in the video, enabling fast and accurate navigation.
Text-Based Selection: Select text to highlight corresponding video segments for quick editing.
Speaker Identification: Automatically tags dialogue to specific speakers, streamlining the editing process.
Timecode Syncing: Each word is timecoded for precise synchronization between video and transcript.
IMPACT
The Transcript Tool speeds up editing by reducing manual scrubbing and allowing editors to focus on the story. It enhances productivity, improves accuracy, and makes the editing process more intuitive.

I designed Media Composer’s audio enhancements, improving flexibility and precision to bring it closer to Pro Tools, providing editors with more control over audio.
KEY FEATURES
Extended Clip Gain Range: Increased from 12dB to 36dB for greater control over subtle and large-scale audio edits.Sub-Frame Automation Control: Enabled pixel-perfect precision for volume and pan automation, ideal for dialogue and sound design.
Extended Marker Colors and Fields: Doubled marker colors and expanded fields for easier cross-platform communication.
Extended Waveform Views: Source, Output, and Full Height views to assist with audio quality and sync.
Source Side Waveform in Source Monitor: Interactive waveforms for precise edits without using the timeline.
IMPACT
These enhancements aligned Media Composer with industry standards like Pro Tools while preserving ease of use, empowering editors to make finer adjustments and deliver faster, more polished audio edits.

Inspired by direct user feedback, this feature minimizes clicks and streamlines navigation, addressing a long-standing pain point for editors with a clean and intuitive solution.
KEY FEATURES
Automatic Track Labeling: Automatically displays source track names in the timeline, eliminating manual labeling or guesswork.
Enhanced Clarity: Instantly identifies audio and video tracks by their original source, reducing errors and improving accuracy.
Contextual Visibility: Adjusts track name visibility dynamically, keeping the timeline clean while offering immediate access to critical information when needed.
IMPACT
This seemingly small change has had an outsized impact on Media Composer users. By simplifying the process of identifying tracks, it reduces repetitive clicks and streamlines workflows, particularly in multi-track projects.
